Prestigious Accolade for Raith Rovers Community Foundation

  • Submitted by: David Torrance, Kirkcaldy, Scottish National Party.
  • Date lodged: Thursday, 09 December 2021
  • Motion reference: S6M-02434

That the Parliament congratulates the Raith Rovers Community Foundation on being named the national winner of the Best Professional Club in the Community Award at the 2021 Scottish FA Grassroots Football Awards; believes that these awards celebrate the tireless volunteers who dedicate countless hours and their expertise to inspire those in the grassroots community; notes the development of the Foundation, which it considers has gone from strength to strength, including the establishment of a full player development pathway that it is understood engages over 400 players from the local area, a community club with over 100 regular volunteers, and Holiday Hero training camps that seek to widen access to the game for local young people, and commends the hard work of all involved, many of whom have gone above and beyond to inspire, engage and support the people of Kirkcaldy.
