George Reid Retirement From CHAS

  • Submitted by: Miles Briggs, Lothian, Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party.
  • Date lodged: Monday, 04 October 2021
  • Motion reference: S6M-01436

That the Parliament congratulates George Reid on his retirement, who has served CHAS for the last 12 years as a trustee, and the last four years as Chair; understands that George has helped oversee growth, opening new services for children and families who are going through hard times, increasing funding for CHAS and fundraising and, latterly, supporting the transition from Maria McGill to Rami Okasha as the new Chief Executive during the pandemic; recognises that during this time, CHAS developed the world’s first virtual children’s hospice, and George was a powerful advocate in ensuring that children with life-shortening conditions and their families are heard and supported through the pandemic, and wishes George all the best in his retirement.
