The Lost Woods Project

  • Submitted by: Pauline McNeill, Glasgow, Scottish Labour.
  • Date lodged: Tuesday, 27 July 2021
  • Motion reference: S6M-00757

That the Parliament welcomes the project, The Lost Woods, which will involve 151 primary schools in Glasgow helping to rewild a 13-hectare site in the lead-up to COP26; understands that the school pupils will transform the site into a Glasgow children's woodland with oak trees that they have grown from seeds; notes that the site will be mapped out like a map of Glasgow, with each school having a designated plot; understands that the site will act as the legacy woodland for the COP26 summit, and considers that this project will benefit everyone in the city, as well as empowering Glasgow children to take action and be heard at COP26.
