Wishing Helen Lumsden a Happy Retirement

That the Parliament congratulates Helen Lumsden on her recent retirement from Westray Junior High School in Orkney, after thirty-seven years; understands that Helen, originally from Lossiemouth, first moved to the island of Westray in 1984 as a probational teacher, and has remained ever since; notes that Helen has served as the principal teacher of the community’s primary school, which currently has a roll of 93 pupils; recognises that Helen has been a popular member of staff, who has had a positive impact on the lives of many young people in Westray over the years; acknowledges Helen's contribution to the wider community and island life, both in Westray and the neighbouring island of Papa Westray, and wishes Helen a long, happy and well-deserved retirement.
