COVID-19 Efforts of Royal Mail Staff

  • Submitted by: Emma Harper, South Scotland, Scottish National Party.
  • Date lodged: Friday, 19 March 2021
  • Motion reference: S5M-24429

That the Parliament thanks and congratulates all of the staff, leadership and everyone else involved with Royal Mail for continuing to deliver a high-class, consistent service in Dumfries and Galloway and across Scotland throughout the COVID-19 pandemic; recognises the extra pressure put on the organisation by the increase in online orders, government advice literature and other letters over the last year due to the restrictions; understands that all Royal Mail staff, whether delivering mail to houses and businesses, working in sorting offices or handling international or UK-wide post, had to adapt to new processes and ways of working to minimise virus transmission; thanks each of them for their dedication and work during this time, and wishes them all the best for the future.
