Forth Valley Art Beat ArtCycle Project

That the Parliament welcomes the news that Forth Valley Art Beat (FVAB) has announced its eco-art project for 2021, ArtCycle, with four outdoor-based commissions being awarded; understands that the project will encompass the exploring of outdoor habitats and environments in the community, bringing together the cultural creativity of the Forth Valley, with a series of temporary outdoor artworks along quieter mapped routes; notes that a number of cycling and walking events that are planned across July and that that month will also see an Open Studios/Gardens Weekend; understands that the artists and projects that have been selected are Audrey Grant, Natalie McIlroy, Holger Mohaupt and Milk & Two collective; acknowledges that the individual works will include areas of RSPB Nature Reserve at Skinflats near Grangemouth and cycle ways between Stirling and Bridge of Allan and Canada Wood, south of Falkirk, with a series of participatory cycling events in and around Stirling and Falkirk; notes that each will involve site-specific responses around place and engagement with the landscape; understands that ArtCycle, which is supported by lottery funding, was devised by its curator, Rosy Naylor, who founded Art Walk Projects in Portobello; recognises that FVAB, was established in 2010 as Forth Valley Open Studios and that ArtCycle aims to be one of the largest cultural events celebrating creativity across the Forth Valley; looks forward to each of the artists developing their projects, and wishes everyone involved with ArtCycle all the very best in their endeavours.
