Wullie Stark Retires After 37 Years of Serving Benarty

  • Submitted by: Annabelle Ewing, Cowdenbeath, Scottish National Party.
  • Date lodged: Thursday, 07 March 2024
  • Motion reference: S6M-12432

That the Parliament recognises the work of Wullie Stark, of Wullie Stark Butchers, Lochleven Road, Lochore; understands that Wullie has dedicated 37 years to serving the communities of Benarty and further afield; further understands that Wullie has taken the decision to retire to spend more time with his family; believes that Wullie is a well-loved member of the local community, and that he has played a key role in a range of community initiatives and projects over the years; recognises Wullie and his team's work during the COVID-19 pandemic, as they helped to ensure that no one was left behind, or left without their butchers meat; considers that, as a traditional butcher, his recipes were well-loved by the local community; understands that local Cowdenbeath man, Tom Courts, has taken over as the local butcher in Lochore; considers that this will be a sad loss for the people of Benarty, and wishes Wullie and his wife, Mary, all the very best in their retirement.
