That the Parliament welcomes MS Awareness Week 2024, taking placing from 22 to 28 April 2024; understands that Scotland has one of the highest rates per head of population of multiple sclerosis (MS) in the world, with around 15,500 people living with the condition, including in Kirkcaldy; notes that MS can cause a range of often fluctuating physical and cognitive symptoms, which can impact the way people move and feel; understands that MS affects everyone with the condition differently; welcomes the work of charities such as the MS Society, Revive MS, the MS Trust, MS Together, MS-UK, Shift.ms, Overcoming MS and the Neuro Therapy Network in raising awareness of MS, and in supporting people living with MS and their families; understands that, during this year's MS Awareness Week, the week of campaigning will aim to raise awareness of the wide range of symptoms and challenges that people with MS face, while also supporting and encouraging people with MS to speak out and seek support, and notes the calls for MSPs across the Parliament to help raise awareness of MS and MS Awareness Week.
