World Day of Prayer 2024

  • Submitted by: Alasdair Allan, Na h-Eileanan an Iar, Scottish National Party.
  • Date lodged: Tuesday, 05 March 2024
  • Motion reference: S6M-12390

That the Parliament recognises that 1 March 2024 was a World Day of Prayer, a program that called for everyone to show love and compassion despite all difficulties and oppression; recognises that this particular program was written by a group of ecumenical Christian Palestinian women using Ephesians 4:1-7 as the basis of their program; admires their aspiration to use prayer in the hope of inspiring other women across the globe to bear with one another in love during troubled times, and congratulates the Salvation Army for its successful service held at Bayhead Salvation Army Hall, which it believes brought the various congregations and faiths of Stornoway together in an evening of joint prayer for peace, justice, love and unity across the world.
