Inverclyde Council Employee Recognised at Scottish Social Services Awards

  • Submitted by: Stuart McMillan, Greenock and Inverclyde, Scottish National Party.
  • Date lodged: Monday, 26 February 2024
  • Motion reference: S6M-12271

That the Parliament congratulates Colin Paterson, who works for Inverclyde Council as a business performance officer, on being awarded the Bright Spark in Social Care title at the Scottish Social Services Awards for his efforts to make life easier for social care staff; understands that Colin pulled together data, following a recent redesign of Inverclyde’s social care service, to identify trends and areas for improvement; further understands that his work helped to distribute workloads more evenly and cut the distance travelled by staff teams by around 5,000 miles per month; applauds Colin for what it sees as his innovative approach, which, it understands, not only helps social care staff but also the individuals and families that they support, and wishes him all the best as he continues in his role.
