Commending 11-year-old Seb Jellema on His Ambition to Break the World Record for Running on Consecutive Days

  • Submitted by: Jeremy Balfour, Lothian, Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party.
  • Date lodged: Wednesday, 10 January 2024
  • Motion reference: S6M-11752

That the Parliament commends 11-year-old Seb Jellema on his ambition to break the world record for running on consecutive days; understands that the current record is held by the late Ron Hill, who ran every day for 52 years and 39 days, and that this inspired Seb to take on this herculean feat; further understands that Seb has run, despite being in challenging conditions, including the snowy Alps, the hot French summer, and even while he was ill; understands that Seb has already raised £1,600 for charity; congratulates Seb on his success this far, and wishes him well as he continues on his over 50 years journey.
