Congratulating Hunters of Kinross for Countryside Alliance Award and Local Apprentice Scheme

That the Parliament congratulates Hunters of Kinross for winning the Countryside Alliance Champion for Scotland award in the Butcher category; understands that finalists are nominated by the general public on the basis of "celebrating rural businesses that go the extra mile, supporting their local economy, and are the unsung heroes in every community"; notes that the awards are otherwise known as "The Rural Oscars" and highlight the diversity of rural enterprise and the determination of rural communities to survive and prosper; understands that Hunters of Kinross is a multi-award winning traditional butcher’s shop, established in 2008, and is respected for the quality of its produce and its integral part in the local community, supporting businesses and charities; acknowledges Hunters of Kinross for its use of a Perth and Kinross Council local apprentice scheme to help youths into work after the COVID-19 pandemic, and for its past efforts to support youngsters towards gaining qualifications in the Scottish Craft Butchers SVQ scheme; commends master butcher, Iain Hunter, and his team for their award, and wishes them further success in the Countryside Alliance’s UK final, scheduled for 17 May 2023, and in the future.
