  • Date lodged: Friday, 03 February 2023
  • Motion reference: S6M-07696

That the Parliament welcomes the news that the Darvel and Area Regeneration Team has been awarded £9,000 by the National Lottery Grants for Heritage programme to fund soft landscape of the Corner Project; understands that the grant covers 90% of the total cost and that the landscaping provision is being fulfilled by local business, Scotplants; notes that The Corner is intended to be a multi-purpose public space to support the wider Darvel community by providing space for casual meetings, community activities, artistic performances, exhibitions, café days, and eventually a local produce market and cycle repair station; understands that the National Lottery Heritage Fund invests money raised by National Lottery players in projects ranging from museums, parks and historic places to archaeology, natural environment and cultural traditions, to support every part of Scotland’s diverse heritage; welcomes the diverse-use strategy of the Darvel and Area Regeneration Team to bring the community together, and wishes them well as they continue the development of The Corner.
