Forth Valley Men's Shed Receives National Lottery Funding

  • Submitted by: Alexander Stewart, Mid Scotland and Fife, Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party.
  • Date lodged: Friday, 20 May 2022
  • Motion reference: S6M-04510

That the Parliament welcomes the news that Forth Valley Men’s Shed has been awarded £3,500 by the National Lottery Awards for All Scotland programme; believes that the group, which is based in Alloa, will use the funding for a new lathe and to meet the running costs of its organisation; understands that Forth Valley Men's Shed is a free-of-charge group open to men aged 18 and over where they can get together, join in activities and talk about what is on their mind; notes that it is a charitable not-for-profit association with a fully-equipped workshop, where skilled and unskilled men can share time with each other, swap stories and work together on community projects; commends everyone involved for their work for the benefit of the community, as well as people's mental health, and wishes them all the very best for the future.
