Success for Theodore Fergusson, Tia McKinnon and Sam Goronwy at the McLellan Poetry Fringe Festival

That the Parliament congratulates Brodick Primary School’s Theodore Fergusson, Tia McKinnon and Sam Goronwy for their success at the Junior Poetry Competition during the McLellan Poetry Fringe Festival; understands that Theodore’s poem, Up in the Morning, was crowned top of the seven-year-old category, Tia’s, The Stories These Hills Could Tell, won in the eight-year-old category and Sam’s poem, Ode to Meep, came first in the nine-year-old category; notes that the theme was Scotland’s Year of Stories and entries were judged by award winning poet, Hollie McNish; understands that the competition was part of Arran’s annual McLellan Poetry Fringe Festival, featuring readings and workshops ran by well-known poets; congratulates the winners on their success, and wishes them all the best for their future.
