Engineering Innovation Centre Approved for Arbroath

  • Submitted by: Graeme Dey, Angus South, Scottish National Party.
  • Date lodged: Tuesday, 03 May 2022
  • Motion reference: S6M-04231

That the Parliament welcomes reports of the full approval of the Tay Cities Engineering Partnership's business case to create a state-of-the-art engineering innovation centre in Arbroath for training, demonstration, and product prototyping; understands that this has been backed by £2 million Scottish Government funding through the Tay Cities Region Deal; further understands that the Engineering Partnership Innovation Centre, to be based at the Arbroath campus of Dundee and Angus College, will bring together a range of expertise from a variety of training organisations, public sector bodies and engineering employers across the Tay Cities Region, and establish a regional engineering and advanced manufacturing network in the north east of Scotland, and considers that this partnership promises to bring benefits for local businesses and the area’s economy as a whole.
