Celebrating Volunteers' Week, 1 to 7 June 2022

That the Parliament commends the hard work and dedication shown by volunteers across Scotland; recognises Volunteers' Week, which runs from 1 to 7 June 2022, as an opportunity to highlight the important role that volunteers can play in communities, and to thank them for playing a vital role in keeping communities safe and engaged during the COVID-19 pandemic; considers that the personal benefits of volunteering are wide ranging and include improving health and wellbeing, gaining confidence, making a difference and building community connections; understands that recent figures show that 64% of adults in Scotland volunteered in 2020, which equates to over 3.4 million people, and thanks all volunteers for what it sees as their invaluable contribution.
