As an amendment to motion S6M-00428 in the name of Ariane Burgess (Capercaillie Population Dips Below 1,000), insert at end ", and further urges it to consult experts and practitioners of land management, including the Game and Wildlife Conservation Trust, The Scottish Gamekeepers Association, Scottish Land & Estates, National Farming Union Scotland and the Scottish Crofting Federation, who have expertise in practical land management in rural Scotland, in order to gain their insights into the decline in species' numbers and, in particular, the loss of capercaillie to known predators of ground-nesting species, such as foxes, stoats, crows and pine martens and to invite experts, alongside NatureScot, to assess what further actions are required to address loss due to predation."
