As an amendment to motion S5M-22467 in the name of Richard Leonard (Importance of Engineering and Manufacturing to the Scottish Economy), leave out from ", and calls on" to end and insert "; further recognises the work carried out by the Scottish Government in supporting the bus manufacturing sector in Scotland, including the launch of the £9 million Ultra-low Emission Bus Scheme on 19 August 2020; understands that the Scottish Government has been in contact with Alexander Dennis Limited regarding the challenges that it faces, and has been working with the company to explore all possibilities to keep jobs in Scotland, and calls on the UK Government to bring forward its plans to invest £3 billion in new green buses, which it considers would help support the sector in Scotland and secure its highly skilled workforce while ensuring their important future in the development of sustainable public transport infrastructure for communities across Scotland and further afield."
