Welfare Benefits for People Living with Disabilities - Amendment

  • Submitted by: Jim Hume, South Scotland, Scottish Liberal Democrats.
  • Date lodged: Tuesday, 11 November 2014
  • Motion reference: S4M-11494.1

As an amendment to motion S4M-11494 in the name of Margaret Burgess (Welfare Benefits for People Living with Disabilities), leave out from first "notes" to end and insert "recalls that the Scottish Government's white paper on independence did not include an increase in social security spending of £2.5 billion despite the Scottish Government and SNP members having called for spending increases; notes that the Scottish Government’s Expert Working Group on Welfare’s second report did not recommend increasing the annual social security budget by £2.5 billion; further notes that the Expert Working Group on Welfare confirmed that welfare spending is set to increase in Scotland by £2 billion by 2016-17 under the present UK administration, and believes that the SNP has consistently misled people on the subject of welfare."
