Welcome to the fifth meeting of the Education and Skills Committee. I remind everyone to turn off mobile phones, as they can interfere with the sound system. I have received apologies from Johann Lamont, and Iain Gray is attending as her substitute.
The first item on the agenda is a declaration of interests. As this is the first meeting of the committee that Iain Gray has attended, I invite him to declare any relevant interests.
I have no interests to declare.
I draw members’ attention to my entry in the register of members’ interests. I am a social worker registered with the Scottish Social Services Council.
