Recognising SQA Staff

  • Submitted by: Michael Marra, North East Scotland, Scottish Labour.
  • Date lodged: Wednesday, 14 July 2021
  • Motion reference: S6M-00673

That the Parliament recognises the professional contribution made by staff at the Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA); appreciates the enormous role that they carry out across many functions, including the administration and support for national qualifications; recognises the immense skills, knowledge and expertise that exists across the workforce; believes that the issues debated by the Parliament over years relating to the organisation are not the responsibility of the workforce but of policy decisions and senior management; recognises the importance of the contributions of the SQA staff to the reform process now underway, and believes that their voice and professional experience must be central to the review process.
