Recognising the Efforts of the Salvation Army in Fraserburgh in the Aftermath of Storm Arwen

  • Submitted by: Karen Adam, Banffshire and Buchan Coast, Scottish National Party.
  • Date lodged: Thursday, 23 December 2021
  • Motion reference: S6M-02675

That the Parliament commends what it sees as the extraordinary efforts of the local community in Fraserburgh in offering support to neighbours in need, who were often without electricity or running water, in the aftermath of Storm Arwen; applauds those who helped in whatever way they were able, offering food and hot drinks and, in some cases, opening their properties to people in need; believes that this exemplifies true grit and selfless community spirit; recognises, in particular, the efforts of the staff and volunteers at the Salvation Army in Fraserburgh who, it understands, helped ensure that Buchan residents received a hot meal and a friendly welcome during this challenging time, and wishes everyone involved every success in their future endeavours.
