Burn Unlimited Young Enterprise at Carrongrange High School

  • Submitted by: Michelle Thomson, Falkirk East, Scottish National Party.
  • Date lodged: Friday, 02 July 2021
  • Motion reference: S6M-00579

That the Parliament congratulates former pupils at Carrongrange High School in Grangemouth on the success of their enterprise, Burn Unlimited, for which they have been awarded Company of the Year at the brand new Youth Enterprise Scottish Team Programme Awards, coming second in the overall UK finals; notes that the company used a laser cutter in the school to design gifts and decorations that were popular locally in the community, and as far afield as France and Sweden; recognises that the Scottish Team Programme helps young people in 5th and 6th year with additional support needs to be aware of their talents and the future work opportunities available to them, and is designed to support and prepare young people for the world of work; considers it important that the educational experiences of young people prepare them for the world outside the classroom; acknowledges the work of Carrongrange High School in helping ASN students to achieve their potential; further congratulates everyone involved in Burn Unlimited, and wishes them the very best for the future.
