  • Submitted by: Fulton MacGregor, Coatbridge and Chryston, Scottish National Party.
  • Date lodged: Wednesday, 30 June 2021
  • Motion reference: S6M-00571

That the Parliament congratulates the staff and pupils of Glenboig Primary School in Coatbridge, who were awarded the Digital Schools Scotland award for exceptional digital skills; welcomes that the school was also named as a National Mentor School, for its innovative use of digital technology; understands that the award commends the school’s excellence in integrating digital technology into learning and teaching; recognises that Glenboig Primary has invested heavily in digital technology in the classroom over the last three years; notes that this has vastly improved the pupils' confidence in developing their digital skills; commends the school for also running remote workshops in order for parents to support the children's digital skills; praises the school for establishing two after-school coding clubs, and believes that the Education Scotland accredited award was well deserved after a monumental effort from staff, students and parents.
