Lauren Murdoch, East Ayrshire's Probationer Teacher of the Year

That the Parliament congratulates Lauren Murdoch on becoming East Ayrshire’s Probationer Teacher of the Year; understands that Lauren is a valued member of staff at Muirkirk Primary School due to her outgoing nature, love of teaching and belief in strong community links; believes that she consistently delivered high-quality learning and teaching experiences in school and during remote learning; notes that Lauren was one of the of the first teachers to go online and teach “live”; considers that she went above and beyond for parents struggling during remote learning; recognises that she developed an engaging programme of outdoor learning work for her class, including participating in a weekend litter pick, and used the environment in the school's area to teach all parts of the curriculum; commends Lauren for her dedication to her vocation despite the COVID-19 restrictions; recognises that Lauren and her many probationer colleagues were fully supported by East Ayrshire Council through what was a very different and unique learning experience for the 2020-21 cohort, and wishes Lauren, and all the other East Ayrshire probationers, the very best as they begin their teaching careers proper.
