School Provision at Western Gateway

  • Submitted by: Maurice Golden, North East Scotland, Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party.
  • Date lodged: Wednesday, 26 May 2021
  • Motion reference: S6M-00136

That the Parliament supports the call from residents of the Western Gateway community in Dundee for the provision of a new school; understands that construction of a new school was promised under the terms of an agreement residents entered into during the development of the community and that residents contribute towards the financial costs of the school; is disappointed to learn that residents have not been provided with a clear timetable for delivery of the school and understands the challenge that this will pose to parents in planning for their children’s education needs; notes that current schooling provision is either some distance away or at capacity, and calls on Dundee City Council to establish a firm timetable for delivering a new school.
