Recognising the Rise and Recent Success of Falkirk Band, Brògeal

  • Submitted by: Gillian Mackay, Central Scotland, Scottish Green Party.
  • Date lodged: Thursday, 11 April 2024
  • Motion reference: S6M-12795

That the Parliament acknowledges the rise and recent success of five-piece Scottish band, Brògeal; understands that the band recently toured the UK supporting Irish musicians, The Mary Wallopers, before playing a sold-out headline show in Glasgow’s King Tut's; further understands that Brògeal is about to embark on its own Irish tour before hitting the summer festival circuit, which will include a performance at TRNSMT Festival at Glasgow Green; understands that the band is proud of its home town, and that its forthcoming EP will open with its rendition of an old folk song titled Roving Falkirk Bairn, which the band first heard at the Falkirk Folk Club, and wishes the band all the very best for the year ahead.
