DAISY Award Recognition for Outstanding Peterhead Midwife

  • Submitted by: Karen Adam, Banffshire and Buchan Coast, Scottish National Party.
  • Date lodged: Wednesday, 13 March 2024
  • Motion reference: S6M-12487

That the Parliament recognises that the Daisy Awards, Diseases Attacking the Immune System Award, is a global recognition programme that recognises and celebrates the skilled, compassionate care that nurses and midwives deliver daily; understands that NHS Grampian joined the scheme in May 2023 and has seen over 800 public nominations received in recognition of exceptional care from NHS Grampian nurses and midwives since adoption, and commends Peterhead Community Maternity Unit's midwife, Natalie Latham, who, it understands, has received the highest number of nominations for any one staff member in NHS Grampian, which, it believes, is a testament to the fantastic level of care that Natalie provides in the Peterhead community.
