Grand Union Trains

  • Submitted by: Stephen Kerr, Central Scotland, Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party.
  • Date lodged: Tuesday, 12 March 2024
  • Motion reference: S6M-12458

That the Parliament welcomes the announcement that Grand Union Trains has been given the go-ahead to start a new train service between Stirling and London from June 2025; recognises that these trains will stop in Larbert, Greenfaulds, Whifflet and Motherwell, which it considers will benefit people in Central Scotland; understands that this announcement will see investment in the railway and increase consumer choice, and considers that people in Scotland, and the Scottish economy, will benefit from having increased transport links with England.
