Elgin Academy Receives Gold Reading School Award

That the Parliament commends the achievement of Elgin Academy on receiving the Gold Reading School award, becoming the first school in the Highlands and Islands to receive the prize; notes the work of the pupils of Elgin Academy in the local community, organising reading events in local care homes and the community generally, helping, it believes, to break down social and generational divides, and further notes what it sees as the inspirational and tireless work of the school librarian, Shelagh Toonen, in achieving this award.
