Newmarket Street, Falkirk

  • Submitted by: Stephen Kerr, Central Scotland, Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party.
  • Date lodged: Wednesday, 20 December 2023
  • Motion reference: S6M-11711

That the Parliament understands that Newmarket Street in Falkirk town centre was recently refurbished at a cost of £800,000 to taxpayers; believes that the common view in Falkirk is that there has been little change after this vast expenditure; understands that these works took eight months with many small and local businesses suffering a loss of football; further understands that frustrations among business owners were rising due to what it sees as a lack of communication from appropriate bodies, and believes that high street regeneration projects must involve the input of local businesses and local people.
