Midlothian Library Services Awarded the 2023 SLIC Service Excellence Award

That the Parliament congratulates Midlothian Library Services, which was awarded the 2023 Scottish Library and Information Council (SLIC) Service Excellence Award for its outstanding contributions to its local communities during the cost of living crisis; celebrates the hard work done by staff and volunteers in its nine libraries and its mobile library services in achieving this recognition; acknowledges the role that Midlothian Library Services plays in helping young people to develop technology skills, and recognises the role of the wider services, such as Braw Blether, Warm Spaces, and a range of cultural events, in leading to a significant increase in visits to the libraries and book issues within Midlothian Library Services.
