New College Lanarkshire’s Eileen Imlah and Students Recognised with Outstanding Achievement Award

That the Parliament recognises Eileen Imlah, a New College Lanarkshire lecturer, who has been hailed as a Fair Trade hero; understands that Eileen and her students, who have additional support needs, won the Outstanding Achievement category at the Scottish Fair Trade Awards; understands that, for nearly two decades, Eileen and her classes have been campaigning for Fair Trade and that the judges recognised their consistent outstanding commitment to Fair Trade by giving them the Scotmid-sponsored Outstanding Achievement Award; recognises that the group has organised Fair Trade meetings, coffee mornings, fashion shows and presentations, welcomed Kilombero rice farmers from Malawi and a cocoa farmer from the Dominican Republic, and has promoted Fair Trade during COP26 in Glasgow; understands that Eileen and her students are contributing to work using technology to bring Fair Trade to life for the students at New College Lanarkshire; considers that Fair Trade makes a difference to the students, farmers and workers that they support; congratulates Eileen and her students on this achievement, and wishes them all the best for the future.
