Commending St Mirren FC's Help a Buddie Initiative

  • Submitted by: Neil Bibby, West Scotland, Scottish Labour.
  • Date lodged: Thursday, 11 August 2022
  • Motion reference: S6M-05612

That the Parliament recognises the Help a Buddie scheme, which it considers to be an important new initiative launched by St Mirren FC; understands that the project gives supporters the opportunity to purchase match tickets, which are then donated to those less fortunate, allowing some of the most vulnerable people in the local community an opportunity to visit the SMiSA stadium and experience a match-day; congratulates St Mirren FC on the establishment of the scheme; commends the generosity of St Mirren fans, whose support for Help a Buddie it understands has allowed the club to allocate a minimum of 15 tickets per league match already, and wishes St Mirren success for the 2022-23 season.
