Uddingston Grammar Pupils Lead Local Litter Pick with Uddingston Pride and Brighter Bothwell Volunteers

  • Submitted by: Gillian Mackay, Central Scotland, Scottish Green Party.
  • Date lodged: Tuesday, 09 August 2022
  • Motion reference: S6M-05603

That the Parliament recognises the contribution by 100 senior pupils of Uddingston Grammar, alongside volunteers of Uddingston Pride and Brighter Bothwell, for their efforts in litter picking in and around the school grounds, as well as in nearby Uddingston town centre; understands that the pupils and volunteers collected up to 50 bags of litter after being issued with litter-picking kits from their local council environmental initiatives officer; believes that the pupils got involved to help spread the wider message to fellow students about the volume of litter around their school and town, and the environmental impact it can create, and thanks the pupils and volunteers for their achievements.
