That the Parliament congratulates Culduthel Community Woods on their ongoing successes in conservation, mental health improvement and land reform; understands that the community recently took ownership of the forest after concerns were raised about litter and vandalism; celebrates the volunteer work done in the Community Forest removing non-native trees, which cultivates a sense of community and appreciation of nature; understands that the group contributes to the Scottish Government’s Volunteering Action Plan, which aims to make it easier for people to volunteer; commends Culduthel Community Woods as what it sees as an excellent example of land reform in the interest of the community, and hopes that their successes can form a model for other woods in Scotland.
