Commending the Aberdeen Law Project

  • Submitted by: Liam Kerr, North East Scotland, Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party.
  • Date lodged: Monday, 16 May 2022
  • Motion reference: S6M-04404

That the Parliament commends the work being done by the Aberdeen Law Project, which it understands is helping to empower the community, assisting and providing knowledge to reduce the likelihood of legal issues occurring in the first place; understands that the Aberdeen Law Project was the first law project in the United Kingdom to be led by students, allowing them to put their skills to use for the good of the community; further understands that they operate a wide range of schemes, most recently the Outfit Like scheme, which it understands provides donated business clothing to people who are looking for work but are unable to afford new clothes; understands that it also provides job seekers with workshops on CV writing and interview skills, and wishes all at Aberdeen Law Project the best for the future.
