That the Parliament notes that Deaf Awareness Week, which is supported by the National Deaf Children's Society, takes place from 2 to 8 May 2022; understands that the week aims to empower deaf children and young people by sharing their personal stories with #MyDeafStory; considers that deaf young people and children face extra barriers in education with a significant education attainment gap between deaf and hearing children and young people; understands that it pledges to work to address this gap, so that all young people can fulfil their full potential, and applauds the work of the National Deaf Children's Society and all volunteers across the sector for their work with deaf people.
