  • Motion reference: S6M-03373

That the Parliament warmly congratulates Paisley’s inspirational STAR Project on being awarded £198,500 from the National Lottery Community Fund (Scotland), which it understands will help towards their work over the next three years; notes that the charity, established in 1999, has over two decades of experience in tackling the impacts of poverty, deprivation and associated stigma in Renfrewshire through a systemic approach to building resilience; further notes reports that the charity has supported a total of 22,296 individuals in more than 300 different ways over the last five years alone; understands that the charity’s new strategy, Community Matters, aims to build on its experience over the last 23 years, and throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, by focusing on themes of wellbeing, connections, and creativity, and wishes the STAR Project, its staff, volunteers and service users every success for the future.
