- Motion reference: S6M-00204.1
As an amendment to motion S6M-00204 in the name of Shirley-Anne Somerville (Education), insert at end ", and, in light of continued concerns, asks that the Scottish Government, prior to the summer recess, responds formally to the will of the Parliament, as expressed on 17 February 2021, that 'there is compelling evidence that neither body is fit for purpose and that they have lost the confidence of teachers, pupils and parents, and therefore calls for substantial reform as part of the recovery of education, with Education Scotland separated into independent inspection and policy functions and the SQA to be grounded in the teaching profession and made more accountable'."
