Question
To ask the Scottish Government what discussions it has held with the General Teaching Council for Scotland regarding the continuation of the Supply Teachers Job Retention Payment for the year 2020-21.
Answer
Pay and conditions of service for teachers are matters for the Scottish Negotiating Committee for Teachers (SNCT) and therefore not a matter for the General Teaching Council for Scotland.
The SNCT is currently considering whether further support might be required.
