Question

To ask the Scottish Government what discussions it has had with the UK Government on the possible extension of the Borders Railway route to Carlisle.


Answer

It was a manifesto commitment to conduct a feasibility study examining the case for extension of the Borders Railway route to Carlisle. We will take the lead with local authority partners including engagement with UK Government and other interested stakeholders to progress this matter.
