Question

To ask the Scottish Government what its position is on whether the current age of criminal responsibility is (a) damaging Scotland’s international standing and (b) impacting on the life chances of young children.


Answer

The Scottish Government acknowledges the complexity of these matters and their wider resonance. That is why the advisory group was commissioned in 2015. The Scottish Government has noted the findings of the advisory group, and is currently consulting on its recommendations.
