Question

To ask the Scottish Executive whether it will take action to identify the demand for speech and language therapy among young people in secondary schools and in the justice system.


Answer

Speech and language services provided to children aredetermined by local authorities in partnership with NHS boards and according tothe needs of each individual child. In the case of young offenders, it is amatter for the Scottish Prison Service to decide the needs of individuals.
