- Motion reference: S5M-14059.1
As an amendment to motion S5M-14059 in the name of Ivan McKee (Scotland’s Role in the Development of Future UK Trade Arrangements), leave out from "ensures the interests" to end and insert "strikes a fair balance between the interests of all parts of the UK and the interests of the countries that the UK trades with; believes that trade policy must be designed to protect human rights, labour and environmental standards, sustainability and trade justice, and considers it essential that future trade agreements are negotiated in a democratically accountable manner, which includes public consultation and gives the parliaments and assemblies of the UK the right to determine negotiating mandates, opportunities to scrutinise negotiating texts and draft agreements and, ultimately, the power to ratify or reject final agreements."
