Scottish Parliamentary Pension Scheme

The Scottish Parliamentary Pension Scheme provides benefits for Members of the Scottish Parliament and officeholders (including the Lord Advocate and the Solicitor General for Scotland).  It also provides benefits for surviving partners and children.

Contributions are paid into the Scottish Parliamentary Contributory Pension Fund, which was established under the scheme.  Investment is managed by an external fund manager, Baillie Gifford.

Scottish Public Pensions Agency

The Scottish Public Pensions Agency (SPPA) provides a pension administration service on behalf of the fund trustees.  Information about pension entitlement and the pension scheme rules in general can be found on the SPPA website (opens in new window).
