Armed Forces' Charity Reaches Out to Veterans

  • Submitted by: Annie Wells, Glasgow, Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party.
  • Date lodged: Wednesday, 07 December 2016
  • Motion reference: S5M-02973

That the Parliament congratulates the armed forces' charity, SSAFA, on launching its campaign, Got Your Back, which aims to encourage veterans to put aside their pride and seek help when they need it; understands that the charity's Glasgow branch has already served 249 veterans in 2016 but there are still many others who could benefit from assistance; notes the struggle that some veterans can face when returning to civilian society; is encouraged by the charity's progress in helping to deal with this, and hopes that veterans will take advantage of the resources that are made available to them by both the public and private sectors.
