  • Submitted by: Neil Findlay, Lothian, Scottish Labour.
  • Date lodged: Wednesday, 07 December 2016
  • Motion reference: S5M-02972

That the Parliament congratulates the community of Bridgend in West Lothian on it being nominated for a Scottish group learning award for its Bridgend Shale History Project; notes that the project was a partnership between pupils from Bridgend Primary School and the community that brought together several generations to share their experience and knowledge of the development of the shale industry and both the community and its culture; understands that this culminated in the publication of a book, Memories of a West Lothian Village, a  DVD and a website that all retell the story of Bridgend, and thanks the Heritage Lottery Fund, Helen Mein, Catherine Stirling and everyone else concerned with project on their excellent work.
