That the Parliament congratulates Prestwick airport on signing a memorandum of understanding with Houston Spaceport, which will provide Glasgow Prestwick Spaceport with access to knowledge, experience, processes, procedures and training from Houston Spaceport and NASA; considers that this partnership will hopefully expedite the establishment of a spaceport at Prestwick airport; further considers that the development of a spaceport at Prestwick will bring huge economic benefits to the Scottish economy, and believes that this development vindicates the action taken by the Scottish Government to avert closure of the airport, safeguarding 3,200 jobs and securing a vital infrastructure asset that contributes more than £61 million annually to the Scottish economy.
